Flash ElectronicsThe flash electronics is an electric circuit that controls the flash. When Bigshot is in Auto-Flash mode, the image sensor (which captures light from the scene) automatically decides whether or not the flash is needed to brighten up the scene. First, the sensor captures a quick photo to see how much light is in the scene. Then, if the scene is too dark, the sensor turns on the flash and captures the actual photo. Although the flash goes off for just a fraction of a second, it uses the same amount of power as the rest of the camera does to take five pictures. Since the hand crank would need to be rotated a lot of times to power the flash, the flash gets its power from a AA battery instead.
