Power CircuitFigure 9 shows a simplified version of the power circuit used in Bigshot. A diode [1] is placed between the dynamo and the supercap. It acts as a one-way switch, allowing charges to flow from the dynamo to the supercap but not the other way around. Cranking the dynamo in Figure 9 causes charges to be stored in the supercap, while pressing the Shoot button causes those same charges to be used up.
If there was no diode in Figure 9, there would be nothing to keep the charges in the supercap from heading back through the dynamo. In this case, the dynamo would act as a motor and will automatically spin the hand crank as the charges flow through it [2]!
